Daily Procedures

  • All Areas (Office, Common, Administrative, Conference Rooms, ect.)

    1. Empty, wipe down, and replace liners, as needed, in all wastebaskets and recycling containers. Remove any other waste-marked trash.
    2. Vacuum all carpeted areas including stairs, under desks, behind doors, in corners, and along baseboards.
    3. Sweep, dust mop, and damp mop all hard floor areas including stairs and hard to reach places.
    4. Hand dust, wipe clean, and arrange neatly all office furniture, files, fixtures, countertop, window sills, ledges, and other horizontal surfaces. Careful attention shall be given NOT to disturb any desktop arrangement.
    5. Remove, clean and sanitize fingerprints and smudges from all vertical surfaces’ including doors, door frames, light switches, private entrance glass, and inside partition glass.
    6. Clean, sanitize, and polish all drinking fountains and water coolers.
    7. Spot clean carpet where there has been spillage during the day.
    8. Elevators
      • Clean, disinfect and shine all inside surfaces of elevator cabs.
      • Dust and damp mop hard surface floor, or vacuum carpeted floors to maintain optimal appearance
      • Clean and disinfect elevator doors and frames.
      • Vacuum and shine elevator thresholds
    9. Replace burned out light bulbs.
  • Restrooms

    1. Empty, clean, wipe down, and replace liners in all waste receptacles. Remove any other waste-marked trash.

    2. Fill, clean, and sanitize all paper and soap dispensers.

    3. Sweep, damp mop, remove spots, and disinfect all hard floors including the hard-to-reach places.

    4. Clean, polish, and disinfect all mirrors, chrome, and enameled surfaces.

    5. Clean and sanitize all basins, urinals, bowls, toilet seats, rims, hinges, piping and other fixtures using a non-abrasive cleaner to remove stains, paying close attention to the hard-to-reach places.

    6. Wipe down and sanitize all partitions, doors, tiled walls, and baseboards.

    7. Wipe clean and sanitize all countertops, sinks, shelves, and ledges.

    8. Replace burned out light bulbs.        

      NOTE:  A cover-up deodorizer should not be necessary in the restrooms when they  are cleaned thoroughly and properly.

  • Employee Kitchen and Coffee Stations

    1. Empty, wipe down, and replace liners, as needed, in all wastebaskets and recycling containers. Remove any other waste-marked trash.
    2. Clean and polish sink, fixtures, and all chrome, (if empty).
    3. Hand dust and wipe clean all appliances, microwaves, vending machines, countertop, tables, chairs, and other horizontal surfaces.
    4. Arrange tables and chairs neatly.
    5. Remove fingerprints and smudges from all vertical surfaces.
    6. Sweep, damp mop, and remove stains on all tiled floor areas.
    7. Clean coffee pots.
    8. Empty and clean all ashtrays, screen all sand urns and replace sand as needed.
    9. Replace burned out light bulbs.
  • Entrances and Exits

    1. Clean interior and exterior of door including glass, handles, push plates, and frame.
    2. Spot clean and polish all glass.
    3. Sweep sidewalk out to ten feet from doors.
    4. Police entrances for blown in trash and debris.
    5. Vacuum all walk-off mats.
    6. Empty and clean all ashtrays, screen all sand urns.
    7. Replace burned out light bulbs.

Weekly Procedures (Mondays)

  • All Areas (Office, Common, Administrative, Conference Rooms, ect.)

    1. Dust picture frames and decor accessions.
    2. Vacuum chairs, sofas, and other upholstered furniture.
    3. Clean and polish lamps and other bright metal.
    4. Wipe clean and disinfect all telephones, especially the handsets.
    5. Dust computer monitors.

    3. Clean and wipe down baseboards.
    4. Squeegees clean all private entrance glass and partition glass.
    5. High dust and remove cobwebs.

Quarterly Procedures
(1st Monday – Jan, April, July, Oct)

    1. Wipe down and oil wood paneling, wood doors, and interior woodwork.
    2. Hand dust and vacuum all ventilating grills and louvers.
    3. Clean carpet in traffic lanes using the hot water extraction method.

    4. Deep scrub and recoat all finished tile floor areas.

  2. Spray & Buff all VCT tiled areas.
